On Wednesday, March 14, Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe signed into law an act that repeals the 1995 law, which requires all students to take the rising junior exam for all students in public colleges and universities prior to graduation.
The policy requires students to take ENG3313, Review Composition. All students who accumulated flags for not taking the rising junior exam are now free to register. The flags were removed, and the students should not have any holds due to the exam while attempting to register.
The English department will administer the tests this week during the following dates: Tuesday, April 3 at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 4 at 9:00 a.m., and Thursday April 5 at 9:30 a.m. Any students with questions as to whether or not they will be required to take the tests should go to the Office of Academic Affairs. That office is located in room 210 of the Womack building adjacent to the Garrison Center.
