With the growing amount of technology used on campus, students may be feeling a bit overwhelmed.
It seems that with each semester Henderson is using more and newer technology - everything from e-mail and Reddie Connect to the Angel Web site used as a companion for many classes.
Henderson's fifth annual Technology Fair is an opportunity for Henderson students, as well as faculty, to become more aware of all the technology currently used on campus.
The Technology Fair will be held Wednesday, Sept. 17 and Thursday, Sept. 18 from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. in the Day Gym.
Jennifer Holbrook, director of instructional technology, is excited about students having the chance to see Henderson's technology showcased during the fair.
"It is a way to get information out to students on what technology is available on campus," Holbrook said.
Holbrook also said that it is extremely difficult to get information to the students about all the current technology, and the Technology Fair allows a way to reach them.
Students can get information regarding Reddie Connect, e-mail, discussion boards, Angel online learning and all the different technology available in all the academic departments.
It is also an opportunity for students to meet who they can contact in case they should have any trouble using any of the technology.
"It is not only a chance for students to see the technology, but for students as well as faculty to say what should be used," Holbrook said.
In the past, the Technology Fair has been held in October. Last year was the first year the fair was held in September.
The reason behind this move was to make it more of a beginning of school activity in order to get more students to attend. Last year the fair had more than 1,200 people in attendance.
Along with Holbrook, computer support specialist Lance Carrier and the online learning services coordinator George Finkle are the ones in charge of coordinating and putting on the fair.
