Thoughts running through my head:
"Wake me up,
I can't wake up,
Save me,
Call my name and save me from the dark."
-Lyrics from "Bring Me to Life" By: Evanescence-
These words have been in my head all week long and it is mainly because I listen to the song everywhere I go.
The song is one of the most inspirational parts of my piece because it is what explains me as of now.
I have added some twists into the story line because my life has yet again changed and it is totally different than it was when I started this piece.
The guy that I thought would be the "hero" and whisk away one of my dancers will no longer be doing it. I have an outside force, if you will, that puts her into a trance and takes her away and throws everything up into the air.
I like to mix things up, try new things, and just make things a lot more interesting. It keeps me working on this piece and makes it evolve more and more everyday into something that I never thought possible.
Some things you just do not see coming until they hit you right in the face, knock you down onto the ground, and make you pick yourself up again.
My main focus of this piece is to really dig deep within my dancers and myself to get the true meaning of this piece out. I want it to be completely understood, but if that were to happen, then I might just need a narrator that speaks throughout the whole dance to tell people what all is going on.
I think that some things are better left un-said though. Maybe the true meaning is to be left silent and defined by the audience that sees it.
I want people to know my meaning of this dance, but I also do not want to barricade them into a distinct thought. The piece should be interoperated how it is shown. I just hope it is close to what I made it out to be.
The dance will always edit and reform, edit and reform.
