You bunch of hypocrites. You wanted to burn down the whole of the Middle East eight years ago. You wanted to nuke it to glass.

Your feeble flags waved from every porch and I, though very young, KNEW they would come down when the shit hit the fan.

Why? You're fickle, America. All of you Fickle Freddies out there cried for retribution when those planes hit the tower. We knew about the torture in Abu Ghraib! We knew about the torture in Gitmo! Why, oh why, are you freaking out about it now? This has been on the news for EVER. Or am I the only one watching when it's boring?

Obama released a document confirming it, and OH LAWD WE DIDN'T KNOW! I call BS. You knew. Well, they weren't feather-dusting the truth out of them in Gitmo! The place carries a horrific connotation with it for a reason!

Did any fingers get lost? Was there any sexual abuse? Absolutely. Are you throwing a fit about that? Nope. Just waterboarding. Just the buzzwords the media tells you to fear.

It's not torture that you're complaining about. That stuff is mild.

Caterpillars in boxes and simulated drowning? Oh freaking whaaa. Why don't we just tell them "the boogeyman will get you if you don't tell us about the WMD's?" That's kid's stuff. My brother used to do that crap to me: throw bugs at me, hold my head down from the side of the pool as I was trying to get out, dunking me. I got over it. I even became a conservative!

I think Bush said it best: these are "Advanced Interrogation Techniques." I'm not saying that's all that went on at all or that I completely agree with the government's hypocrisy on the subject (we beheaded a bunch of Japanese way back when for waterboarding our troops; yeah, I'll say it, the government was being a little hypocritical there. Sorry bout losing our heads back then. Or yours, whatever, our bad, thanks for the sushi.) I'm just saying get over it; it's minute. It's small in comparison to the information extracted during the process.

Was Gitmo a good place? No. It was trial without jury, which I cannot abide. It was summary judgment and a violation of rights our forefathers deemed universally innate to ALL MANKIND. Not just Americans. However, I repeat, YOU'RE UPSET ABOUT A LITTLE WATERBOARDING AND CREEPY CRAWLEYS? They couldn't even sting guys. GTFOver it.

In closing, does it suck that this happened? Yeah, it sucked that it had to. But it had to. Why? We the people called for it.

We the people called for this modern mcarthyism, for the attack, persecution and fear of everyone with brown skin on a plane, or any crowded area. You all asked for it, you got it and you're scared of what you created. So yeah. It sucks that we're torturing folks, but it sucks more that we BEGGED for it to happen. So quit being a bunch of bleeding-heart sissies.
