Game Has 'Mass Effect' on Audience
Cari Elliott
Issue date: 2/1/10 Section: Features
Players can enjoy sneaking
around and pegging bad guys in the back of the head with ease.
What did not show itself is the land rover, but this decision
should be welcomed by most gamers.
Shooting while driving the rover was difficult, but not nearly as difficult as navigating
mountainous terrain without flipping over.
Gamers are not given as many character customization
options at the beginning of the game.
However, players can import
their character from the original "Mass Effect."
Same character, same attitude.
Not to mention, all of the choices players made throughout the first game can affect the story line of the new installment.
This is one of the coolest, if not THE coolest, part of "Mass Effect 2."
The new installment also offers outfit choices and customizable
armor.
There are hundreds of colors,
patterns and style combinations
for a gamers' armor, and players find armor in pieces instead of whole sets.
Not only that, but players can customize Shepard's room with model air crafts, music and pets, such as fish.
Maybe the creators were playing Fish Ville on Facebook?
Who knows, but it is definitely cool.
It is also interesting that the players' characters now must pay a price for being bad.
Shepard starts the game with a few scars on his face from the attack on the Normandy.
If players make righteous decisions, these scars heal.
This also means evil decisions
result in more scars.
Ultimately, this game is phenomenal.
The amount of detail put into the graphics is unheard of, and gamers enjoy landing
sequences and loading screens that are unique for each planet.
The amount of customization
and the countless plot options is amazing.
Game play is easy and fun without feeling repetitive. "Mass Effect 2" is the ultimate
space simulator/role playing game and is a gamer must-have.
